My late uncle had a brother-in-law from Corpus Christi who, when I was back on the farm in NW Texas, gave me some longhorn okra seeds. I planted them and was amazed at the size and tenderness even of the longer pods.
I cannot find the seeds in the Dallas area and don't want to buy a bushel basket load, but would love to have some seed for my "city garden".
Thanks

I'm reading a book right now that made me think of you. It's Country Wisdom published by "Good Old Days" magazine. Our zinnias are lovely. I'm so glad you sent seed because they had plenty of time to bloom! If you sneak me some of those okra seeds, I'll grow them too!

We, too, have had a "blessed" year with okra... so your writing brought an understanding smile! We love the stuff, but it definitely outworked us this time. In fact, we decided to let our hard-working plants take an early retirement this year :) And, by the way - thanks for the write-up in the paper for the Fellowship Fest - it was a great summary of all the hard work!

Have a great week!

Bill McCown gave me some of those seeds a few crops back, and they proved true to all the tales. Call me when you are overflowing with okra, we can't get enough of it at our house!
